We adopted a 5-month Dachshund mix rescue a month ago and our little Kylo would go from being insanely cute & sweet, to a terrible terrier...especially after a walk. And those baby teeth are sharp! But then Omar showed up at our door yesterday and spent about 2 hours training us to train our new puppy. And it seemed like magic! We are only 3 weeks in with our training, and have already seen a world of difference. It’s unbelievable what we witnessed on Day ONE!! Ryanne taught us how and why we need to speak dog. It’s day two and Lilly is responding very well to the training. Very good results with out a lot of complicated commands. Our little mini Schnauzer is making good progress from the initial training that Omar provided on his first visit. It was quite remarkable to actually hear less barking !

Today was our first session with Omar. We have known for a while that our dog Kona is a very nervous, anxious, and reactive dog. But it wasn’t until working with Omar did we realize that Kona was living in a state of constant stress and feeling that she needed to be “on” at all times. Today, we saw a change in Kona’s demeanor and behavior within minutes of the first training exercise. We learned so much from Omar in just this first visit. I’ve been impressed with the BarkBusters approach toward behavior training. Ryanne, our consultant has been great to work with. Very knowledgeable and available for us when we have questions, need a quick refresher lesson, whatever it might be. This approach makes sense to us and to our dog Bo.

My dog has recently begun to act aggressively towards new guests in our home, not biting exactly, but kind of nipping and barking at them. We thought we have tried everything when it comes to training, but Omar came in and right away there was a difference once we enforced the corrections and training that we were being taught to do in order to help our pups behaviors! Instantly, we saw results and are so excited to continue with these training sessions.

We have a German Sheppard who has a history of biting. The last time she bit was random and on another one of our pets in which they have been together for years. We feared for our baby and that she could bite him just as easily as biting our cat. We contacted our vet, and they told us to put her down. Like others, we have two dogs and were at wits end. Both dogs are rescues and our younger dog is very anxious and reactive. We could not walk them down the street without them barking howling and lunging when we saw another dog. We just moved to this new home mid-October and have hardly met anyone cause our neighbors (and their dogs) hide when they see us out walking. I saw the reviews for Bark Busters and we decided to give it a try. Omar came to meet us this past Sunday morning. Yes, the initial 3 hour training is long but it really is “owner training” not dog training, though we spent quite a bit of time off and on working with the dogs in those 3 hours as well. After Omar left we let the dogs sleep and took care of chores. That evening we took the dogs for a walk. It was like walking different dogs. We stopped and chatted with two neighbors. The first one had his dog out and ours paid it no attention. The 2nd neighbor had his dog inside but our dogs know there is a dog at that home. In both cases our dogs mostly just sat quietly at our feet looking at us for a sign to move on. It is pleasant to walk the dogs so far which also means lots more walking for them which they love. Other behaviors are also night and day. We are going to continue practicing and are very much looking forward to our next session!

Can’t thank Ryanne enough. She came right away when I need someone the most. She’s helped me feel confident in my training with Luna. I definitely see a difference within two weeks. Luna is less reactive to trucks, scooters and dogs. Obviously a working process, but I feel confident that we will soon have great walks.

Bark Busters has helped immensely with our two reactive rescue dogs! Even after the first training session, our 3 year-old dog showed marked improvement. For example, when I took him on a walk the night after the first training, we encountered a neighbor dog—in the past they would lunge and bark at each other. With the techniques learned, our dog remained calm walking past the other dog who was lunging and barking from across the street. It felt like we were on another planet—it was so different from past experiences and a relief! Our other dog is a 6 month old puppy and has also responded well to the training. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how quick our 5.5 yo and 3.5 yo pups took to their new skills. We hired Bark Busters to help us with barking, jumping, and walking. I reached out to Bark Busters in search of some training for my German Shepherd, Ozzy. Omar is our trainer and we’ve been working together for about a month now. Omar is a great trainer and person! Omar has been amazing with helping us tame these two wild beasts! We didn't know either puppy's past but we knew it wasn't good since they were both dog reactive and scared of new people. Omar helped us learn how to "speak dog" and understand their needs and then how to to help them to trust again.

My dog Romi is a 1.5 year old Sheltie who is extremely reactive to the tiniest sound or smallest movement, specifically cars. We have done typical training classes and even 1 on 1 training with a clicker and treat method. Nothing has worked until we found Bark Busters! After just a few weeks of the new training and methodology, his reactivity has significantly decreased. We still have work to do for him to fully relinquish the alpha role but I know we will get there. Paul has been amazing trainer. I have three dogs, one with very high anxiety who can become quite destructive, one who wouldn’t listen and was quite needy and the third a very large mastiff mix who is extremely aggressive to the point we have a hard time taking him out. I was at my wits end and felt there was no way my fur babies were ever going to be able to be trained and be able to live their lives to the fullest. We adopted 2 Morkies 10 years ago. They were liter mates and had been together all their lives. Sammy has always had some separation anxiety but as long as he had Gideon, he was ok. Well, Gideon passed away in February and Sammy’s separation anxiety got so bad that I couldn’t leave the house without him howling and crying the entire time I was gone! It was so stressful! We decided to try Bark Busters. Omar came out and worked with us one morning and Sammy was a different dog by the next day! Sammy is a shy, timid dog and took to the new rules quickly! We got our dog Luna from the shelter and she had many issues with distractions, listening and pulling on the leash. We were close to giving up. Omar has helped us greatly by teaching us the techniques to get Luna more obedient and under control. That training has shaped Luna into a great dog.

Absolutely could not be happier! Dilly was extremely dog aggressive. We had tried so many ways to correct this - dog trainers, snacks, muzzles - nothing worked. When we moved to an apartment earlier this year, the situation became desperate. Then Omar and Bark Busters came into our lives! Literally in TWO sessions, Dilly is a new dog - I like being with him again and enjoy going for walks. The training was simple and made sense. Omar did a great job explaining the why's of DIlly's behavior. We are very please with the progress we have made with our two dogs in a short amount of time with Bark Busters. Our past experience has been with senior dogs that are often very docile. When we adopted two younger dogs, we were struggling with their behavior. The one on one training that Ryanne has provided has increased our confidence and skills in working with our dogs. I was extremely surprised with the way my dog responded to the training. It is an odd way to train but works very effectively. I would highly recommend Bark Busters. The price is quite high and wish I would've started this training with a puppy. Now that I know how to train with these methods the price is worth it for use with future dogs.

Our adorable 6-month-old Newfoundland, Odin was showing extreme separation anxiety. It became very challenging for my husband and I to leave the house without having Odin cry and whine, it was heartbreaking. My husband and I were not sure how to move forward, we didn’t know how to fix it- or even if we could. We started researching professional help- we had come to terms with ourselves that we needed it! That was when we called Bark Busters, we talked on the phone with Omar, and he explained how Bark Busters could help. We got on board! We are now working together with Omar to give Odin what he needs to feel safe & secure both when we are home- and when we leave. I adopted a rescue puppy in March for my special needs son. He loves animals and we have always had a dog until our last one was hit by a car and passed on. That was very traumatic for both of us and we went 5 years without a dog after that. The rescue had this puppy listed as a Feist mix. I looked up that breed and it seemed perfect for us so we adopted her. As months went on she started to look more like a pitbull and that scared me because I had a very negative view about that breed of dog and never would have intentionally adopted one. I did a DNA test because I was so concerned and yes, she is about 43% pitbull and 27% German Shephard (another breed I would not have adopted intentionally). She also has small amounts of boxer and lab. Zero Feist ironically. She started to display some behaviors that I wasn't sure how to handle, she became extremely territorial and we got to the point where she was so strong that we couldn't walk her anymore. I found a trainer and we brought her to weekly classes for over 2 months. They were treat-based and she learned a lot of commands and could do very cute tricks as long as I had a bag full of treats in my hand. They weren't teaching me how to handle her behavior when strangers came to the door or had the nerve to walk past our home or how to get her to walk without pulling us down the street. Offering a treat while she is barking at the couple walking their dog on the other side of the street was strangely not effective. Who knew? I got almost to the point of surrendering her back to the rescue but was sooooo in love with her that I couldn't do it without knowing that I had tried everything in my power to keep her. I decided to give a different trainer a try and found Paul Jasmin. I could go on for days about how much I have learned from him but I wont, just maybe for a couple of paragraphs. :) I credit him for being the real Rescue because I was overwhelmed and at my wits end when I first met him. The first time that he walked in to help me learn how to train Maggie, she immediately reacted to him and his techniques in a positive and adorable way. The rest was up to me and it's been a hard road but when I intentionally use those techniques consistently, they work. I can walk her now with no problem, her territorial tendencies have calmed by about 50% and the only reason it's not 100% is because I got lazy when I saw the improvements and wasn't as consistent. I then set up another session with Paul to get back on track and what I love about him is that he is very direct and immediately offers feedback on how the human could do a better job. I love that and it is exactly what I needed. I also love that for the rest of Maggie's life, if I come across an issue that I don't know how to handle, I have backup to help me if I need it. I highly recommend Bark Busters and Paul. Maggie just turned 1 last week and she has a literal forever family because of him. I am becoming the leader she needs so she can just relax, enjoy her life and be the awesome, smart, adorable gal that she is. Every time I look at her, I smile. I have to say I was unsure if how training a dog would go without using treats “bribes” or physical contact. But after a single training session with Paul our little guy has shown tremendous improvement. The method works and Paul is amazing to watch interact with animals. It’s like he speaks their language and gets tremendous results. Our labs Ziva (2 yrs) and Zoe (18 mo), have been running wild, not responding to commands and even getting aggressive with each other and other dogs. We reached out to Ryanne at Bark Busters for help. We have only been at it for 3 weeks and the results are amazing. It's amazing what a few short hours can accomplish when the right techniques are used! Chapo and Hulk made tremendous progress the 1st night of our appointment, and daily practice is really sinking in. They have gone from out-of-control destructive and over-excited behavior both when guests arrive and when I leave the house to a calmer, more focused, and guest-friendly behavior. Ryanne was wonderful! We interviewed countless dog trainers, audited a number of classes and NO ONE compared to her approach and technique. She truly understands the behavior of dogs and 'speaks their language'. Her no nonsense approach is very helpful in understanding what our dog is thinking. She pinpointed why we were having issues with our 2 Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers and quickly offered solutions. Omar came over last night to help our family out w/ our Frenchie, Snooze. We've researched many techniques prior to calling Omar; however, we had no idea what he started teaching us to do. He didn't simply show us what to do, he thoroughly explained "why" this way of training is more effective long-term. He started explaining that we had to reverse the "humanizing" that we inadvertently caused. After giving us a foundation of knowledge, we began to learn how become "leaders of the pack" and how to effectively communicate that we don't need him to feel unsafe; "we got this". The techniques helped us establish boundaries, clear leadership, and make him feel safe and secure. Omar has shown us a whole new perspective on what and how Snooze thinks/feels. He totally "gets" how to interact on a dog's level. I'd recommend him and Bark Busters to ANYONE.

Ryanne has been great to work with on several issues we have had with Wilson, including leash work and greeting people at the door. We can call or text her anytime for help. Our training sessions with Ryanne have been very helpful for us and Wilson. She is willing to take time to answer our many questions and tailor the training to Wilson’s specific needs. We saw positive changes in Wilson after his first training, much to our surprise. We would highly recommend Bark Busters.

I was walking our dog, Edna, in Woodbury one day and saw a Bark Busters truck in front of my neighbors home. I went home and immediately Googled the company as Edna’s barking (among other habits) had gotten really bad since we moved. I submitted enquiry and within 24 hours someone reached out to me. I was impressed with the company, the approach and the communication out of the gate, so my husband and I decided to make the investment in our dog (and our sanity). Flash forward to after the second session with Ryanne, we’re very pleased with her as well as the program. During our initial assessment and training session (in our home, which makes 100% sense as opposed to other programs that take the dog away to train), Ryanne took the time to really understand our home routine, assess Edna, and identify areas of opportunity for Edna and us to work on. It’s not “magic” but the process DOES work so long as we as owners are consistent. Even after the first session, we saw a difference in Edna responding to us. We also got some really good insight into why Edna does the behaviors she does, which helps us better manage her behavior. The resources — from direct communication with Ryanne to the information packet — have been really on point. The strategies are founded in research and a strong understanding of canine behavior. The non-reward approach is very important to us. We feel like we have an ally in helping us help Edna be her best little dog self! In summary, we strongly recommend Bark Busters for anyone looking for a lasting solution to their dog’s sub-optimal behavior. We’re so glad we found Ryanne!

Not long after adopting my dog Russel I noticed he had bad separation anxiety, I couldn't leave him anywhere by himself for more than a minute. I wasn't sure what to do about it and I couldn't seem to find a trainer to help with it, until I found Bark Busters! I had the pleasure of working with Ryanne and Omar, and they have been fantastic. They came out 2 days after I contacted them, were very professional, and, like they claim, I saw change immediately after the first session. Working with them you can tell they know exactly what they're doing and they're very passionate about it! Prior to Omar and Ryanne working with me, my dog was overly concerned with "answering" the door when guest would come to visit. Typical behavior began with barking when the doorbell rang and once the guest entered the house it would escalate to jumping on them. Omar and Ryanne explained to me that I needed to change how I communicated with my dog so he could understand what I wanted him to do. After a few fairly basic exercises I saw a dramatic change in his behavior and he is now much calmer when guest visit. I feel confident that as I continue to work with the techniques they provided me our house will be much more peaceful. Thank you so much Omar and Ryanne! My husband and I are so grateful for Ryanne & Omar’s assistance with our 10 year old bichon. They helped us learn how to communicate effectively with our dog, Abby. Prior to Their visit, Abby's method of greeting guests included jumping, pacing, and invading our guests' personal space. Within a few minutes of the training, Abby showed major improvement as Ryanne & Omar acted out various scenarios of guests entering the house at the front door. My husband and I could not believe our eyes! It was really amazing to see the transformation in our dog's behavior after just a few minutes of training. Abby was no longer showing his nervous energy and was looking to us for guidance. Ryanne & Omar are helping us to teach Abby that she can sit back and relax and just enjoy his life as a dog. Paul helped me reintegrate my pack of 3 dogs and allowed me to continue fostering dogs safely as well. My original issue (I thought) was my big 70lb Ginny attacking our 27lb dog and a foster. We were at a point of complete separation of the big dogs and the small dog. Paul came in and immediately saw there was more than that. He helped me recognize the 3 very different types of dog personalities we had which lead to the reactivity. He helped me regain pack leadership which allowed my dogs to relax... that’s all it took! Well, that plus daily work. It took 4 months but our pack is back together. Most importantly Ginny and I have a stronger bond than ever before - she listens to my commands, she can be off leash, and walks well on leash. I respect her reactivity and continue to work with her daily and when in public using Paul’s lessons.

Bark Buster's methods work as long as the humans do the work and are consistent. They teach you methods to work with your dog that will almost seem like magic. Paul in particular has been great in listening to us and what we want from our dogs and then teaching us how to get there. He is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. This is not a one visit and done session, Paul has done 2 follow up sessions with us beyond the initial one. He was willing to continue working with us as long as we needed but after 3 sessions, we feel we are on the way to the results we want and have the tools necessary to continue forward on our own. We had two stubborn weiner dogs who had territorial aggression issues at home, constantly pulled on the leash during walks, chased the cats and other smaller behavior issues. While not completely gone, all of those issues are significantly better and our dogs are more relaxed in general. We still have room for improvement but the change has been great. If owners are willing to do the work to set and enforce rules consistently, Bark Busters will work.

Paul transformed our dogs! We have two wonderful 75lb rescue Pitbulls and our youngest, Sir, became very protective and aggressive with visitors after the birth of our first child. Sir would bark and lunge at people unexpectedly and my greatest fear is that he would end up hurting someone. At our first visit with Paul, Sir immediately went into protection mode (barking, lunging, snarling) but within 10 minutes of Paul arriving he was able to give us the tools to establish leadership and Sir almost immediately became relaxed and more responsive to the training. Everything technique Paul taught us has helped and now, only a month later our dogs have made a total turn around. Bark Busters has an amazingly effective program and we are very satisfied with our investment. I have spent hundreds of dollars with other dog training, Puppy 1, 2 and Adult 1 class. He learned tricks but they didn't teach obedience at all! After 1 training session with Bark Busters I have the best dog!!! He listens, stays out of my kitchen, walks like a dream, is no longer kenneled when we're home and no longer bolts upstairs or out the door! Best money spent. Paul is great! We rescued Trooper in early September. As with any rescued dog, Trooper had a tough background even though he was only-at most-a year old. The biggest issue we have is that Trooper is afraid of men, and he wanted absolutely nothing to do with Thom. We reached out to Bark Busters to help with this, but we have learned a lot more about how to provide the leadership for Trooper to be comfortable and secure in his new home.

Our trainer was Paul Jasmin and admittedly I was skeptical at first. However, Paul quickly showed me he was extremely qualified to help me get my dogs under control. He showed me what to do, let me practice while he was here and the dogs responded almost immediately; to say the least it was amazing to watch. Now I have to continue with the training tips he shared with me and practice with the dogs to make this behavior routine. Paul has met with us for two training sessions. He was very professional in listening to my one year old lab's (and 11 year old standard poodle's) behavior issues and in explaining and demonstrating training instructions. Paul provided personalized written and training instructions including training tools. It was clear to me there were many areas where I lacked taking control of my dominant role and how I could change my behavior to create an atmosphere to guide my dogs to good choices so my dogs would view me as their canine leader. I was surprised that in two days a change to positive behavior was evident and the anxiety I felt in trying to control unwanted behavior was greatly diminished. Not requiring intimidation and treats (hot dogs in particular) was important to me in training my dogs and achieving their respect as their canine leader. I was able to read their body language and tried to be quick with praise for every good choice.

Paul provided us with great training advice. He explained the way a dog thinks and responds. This has helped us work with Maggie and make our experience of owning a puppy so much better. The props and training we were provided was great and I would recommend it to anyone!
